I have no faith in their parts suppliers nor their desire to earn my respect as a repeat customer. This will be my last GM AND my last Toyota vehicle. I have had 3 Corollas, two as Pontiac Vibes. I am attempting to remedy the problem by using Seafoam in the engine 200 miles before the oil change, and then adding a quart of Lucas Oil in with the new oil replaced. My 2zr Corolla Engine is now consuming 1 quart of oil every 900 miles. Since this is the last report and will hereby be forever ingrained into history, I wanted to put down this repair to demonstrate the lack of care Toyota has shown regarding oil consumption in most of their 4 cylinder cars. I am now averaging over 3 quarts of oil burned in between oil changes. To do nothing will ultimately result in a catalytic converter failure and dumping of this car. I will repeat the process 2 or 3 times before attempting to hot soak the engine in transmission fluid for a few hours. This is a known problem so I felt it worth reporting it as a mechanical failure. Working under the guidance of my mechanic, I am starting a regiment of Seafoam and Lucas Oil at/before each oil change interval in an attempt to stem the large consumption of oil, likely due to inadequate sizing of the Toyota oil return holes at the bottom of the piston head. Entire engine needed to be removed to install a new gasket. OEM belt had a rubber sliver showing upon examination by owner. Decided to have redesigned Toyota intake manifold (orange) and new PCV installed, as well as any observed carbon removed. Idle dives below ideal level when coming to hard stops at stop signs. When bad, idle drops to 650 rpm instead of the normal 750 rpm. Throttle body pids were recalibrated and plates were cleaned of carbon to try to eliminate a diving idle issue when coming to a complete stop. Diagnosed by mechanic after taking off serpentine belt and spinning the spindle by hand to hear the failed bearings inside.Īlternator failed. Problem solved. Mechanic reported that my driver's side cv BOOT WAS split. Actuator was replaced to stop the grinding noise at start up.Īfter improperly diagnosing the problem as a timing gear actuator, I got the dealer to put in a new Denso starter under warranty. Voila! You’re ready to rock your textured quiff and show off your handsome triangle face.Īttention all men with triangle-shaped faces! If you’re looking for a style that flatters your features, look no further than the layered side part.Apply a light mist of hairspray for extra hold (optional).Scrunch and tousle the hair on top of your head to create a textured finish.Style it forward and to the side for a classic quiff look. Use a blow dryer on low heat to lift the hair at the front of your head and create volume.Use a comb or brush to create a high side part on one side of your head.Apply a pea-sized amount of hair wax or pomade to your fingertips and work it evenly throughout your hair. Plus, it’s an easy and versatile look to maintain on a daily basis. Try some side-part textured fringes and if you have curly hair then bam! It would look amazing! Lengthy layered hair would be best for the diamond shape. This classic hairstyle adds volume to the top of your head, giving the illusion of a more balanced and proportionate face shape. The jawline and chin are well-structured and angular. The middle area (around eyes and cheekbones) is relatively wide than the forehead. It is tough to find the perfect textured hairstyle for diamond face shape as there are many edges. You can go with swept-back hairstyle, side part with medium layers and even man-bun. The trick here is to balance the narrow jawline and chin by giving uniform volume on the top area of the head and little on sides. Having a wider upper half and significantly narrow lower half will be considered as a heart-shaped face. Side part, brush-up and side-combed would be suitable for oblong face shape. So, to balance the shape, go for the shorter haircuts ones that offer more volume on sides. This shape shows more length and a lesser width. Imagine stretching the round face vertically and, the resultant shape you get is oblong. Go with quiffs, a pompadour, side part, spikes, fringes, layers, bob, anything! Hairstyles for Oblong Face Shape-Men You guys are lucky if you have a square face! You can experiment with almost every hairstyle existing on this planet. In short, whichever gives a bit of volume on top and the sides. Men with oval face shape can go with varied hairstyles like spikes, messy fringes, quiff, etc. The oval face can be defined by features such as rounded edges around forehead and cheekbones and a slightly narrow finish around the jaw/chin. It is not advisable to opt for fringes or the ones that cover your forehead. The ideal way to balance the round shape with the hairstyle is to go for ones that give length to your face. Celebrities with this face shape: Jude Law, Will Smith, David Beckham, George Clooney, and Enrique Iglesias, all have an oval face shape. No wonder it’s been given the title of the most ideal face shape for men. When the face has rounded edges instead of sharp and slender ones, further the width and length is more or less similar, then it can be considered as round shaped. Overall, the oval face frame is the most balanced among the others. With this post, I would try to share some points that would help you pick the right hairstyle for yourself! Hairstyles for Round Face Shape-Men I know, there are millions of illustrations that can help you categorize your face shape, but in the real world, the face shapes can be combinations of various shapes that we see in guides/illustrations. However, regardless of this fact, you must experiment if it makes you happy! To continue with the stated dilemma that men face, you must first identify your face shape. Few of my friends have been wondering to experiment a bit with hair but, the relevant doubt they face is “will it suit the face shape?” Well, it is definitely essential to consider your face shape when going for a new hairstyle. Namaste people! I hope you all are doing great! Today I am here with another demanded post on men’s hairstyles. And since they have a Big Hairy Audacious of Goal of being on every smartphone in the world, which could be as many as 5 billion phones in a few years, they’ll need to make the most of that experience.īefore we get to the facts, let’s digress for a moment on this absolutely fascinating conundrum: How can WhatsApp possibly be worth $19 billion to Facebook?Īs a programmer if you ask me if WhatsApp is worth that much I’ll answer expletive no! It’s just sending stuff over a network. So WhatsApp comes by their scaling prowess honestly. The founders are also ex-Yahoo guys with not a little experience scaling systems. Having built a high performance messaging bus in C++ while at Yahoo, Rick Reed is not new to the world of high scalability architectures. We've faced many challenges in meeting the ever-growing demand for our messaging services, but as we continue to push the envelope on size (>8000 cores) and speed (>70M Erlang messages per second) of our serving system.īut since we don’t have that talk yet, let’s take a look at a talk Rick Reed gave two years ago on WhatsApp: Scaling to Millions of Simultaneous Connections. What has hundreds of nodes, thousands of cores, hundreds of terabytes of RAM, and hopes to serve the billions of smartphones that will soon be a reality around the globe? The Erlang/FreeBSD-based server infrastructure at WhatsApp. Rick Reed in an upcoming talk in March titled That's 'Billion' with a 'B': Scaling to the next level at WhatsApp reveals some eye popping WhatsApp stats: Like their dairy counterparts, the brand’s certified-vegan nondairy line, which it launched in 2016, plays to B&J’s primary strength, which is making ice cream that is more or less a deconstructed candy bar. And why would they - going to B&J’s for vanilla is like going to a steakhouse for salad. Like Jeni’s, Ben and Jerry’s doesn’t do nondairy vanilla. That said, it was overall pretty satisfying. Also, in my pint, at least, there weren’t enough wafer bits (or “vanilla wafer gravel,” as it’s appealingly called on the ingredients list). The flavor, on the other hand, is a bit artificial it tastes less like banana than food science’s idea of banana. Jeni’s makes its nondairy base from coconut cream, which here creates a very good, creamy texture with nice melt. Known for its creative flavors, Jeni’s doesn’t offer anything as pedestrian as a dairy-free vanilla the closest I could find was its banana cream pudding. I ate a lot of it so you hopefully won’t have to. Again, there is a lot of bad vegan and nondairy ice cream out there. This is less a traditional shopping guide than a public service announcement. While some may argue this creates an uneven playing field, I believe that important attributes like texture and flavor can be improved upon only so much if you’re not working from a decent base. When I couldn’t find vanilla, I bought whatever flavor I could find. When possible, I tested each brand’s vanilla flavor, since vanilla is arguably the best test of a brand’s basic competence. (Refined white sugar, a major ingredient in many ice creams, is typically processed using animal byproducts.) One other bit of potentially confounding (and telling) terminology is that a lot of brands call their products “frozen desserts” rather than ice cream. It is also not a guide to only certified-vegan ice creams - while everything on here is nondairy, a number of brands use the terms “nondairy” and “vegan” interchangeably, so those who are strict vegans need to do a bit more digging to make sure certain products are certified as such. While I tried 17 brands in the course of my research, this is not a comprehensive guide to every vegan and nondairy ice cream on the market. But quantity, alas, does not necessarily mean quality: It is a truth (almost) universally acknowledged that an awful lot of vegan ice cream tastes like it was made by people who hate vegans.Īs someone who has eaten my fair share of vegan ice cream, I set out to try to distinguish the good from the bad and the very, very strange. Big, non-vegan ice cream companies have gotten in on the game, as have grocery store brands and a myriad of start-ups. There is now enough vegan ice cream on the market that those of us who avoid dairy for whatever reason now have exponentially more choices than we did even five years ago. On the hunt for some other low-calorie recipes? Check out these low-calorie desserts and breakfasts. If you want to measure how much the landscape of packaged vegan foods has changed, vegan ice cream makes a good yardstick. As with everything, moderation is key! Here are some of our favorite low-cal ice creams that actually deliver in the flavor department. Still, just because low-calorie ice cream is, well, relatively low calorie doesn't mean you should be downing whole pints on the regular. Traditional ice creams like Häagen-Dazs, on the other hand, rely more heavily on cream and refined sugar-which, shocker, tend to pile on the calories. Artificial sweeteners often step in for traditional sugars, providing sweetness sans calories. Some lean on yogurt to achieve a creamy texture, while others rely on milk proteins to pump up a product's overall protein content (the taste of which our bodies are programmed to love). Never fear, we've rounded up the best of the best to save you from a disappointing scoop.īut first, you're probably wondering: How do brands achieve a rich ice cream flavor with fewer calories? According to Bicycling, many low-calorie ice creams use skim milk as the base. After all, can low-cal varieties really taste as good as the full-fat kind? Can their texture even come close? Despite lingering skepticism, there are a ton of low-cal ice cream competitors out there and it's hard to know which ones are worth stashing in your freezer-and which ones should be chucked straight in the trash. Low-calorie ice cream? We can't blame you for giving the category the side-eye. If you have been playing Rust for a while, you know that smaller bases are the most smartly built. The Fring is a base design dedicated to a solo or duo playstyle. UPKEEP COST (24hr): 56 Hqm | 4,000 Metal Frags | 5,900 Stone The shooting floor has the basic gaps and angles, but it is simple and efficient, which is great for a solo player.īUILD COST: 306 Hqm | 22,000 Metal Frags | 36,000 Stone. The suicide bunker is a great way to take all of your valuables with you, seal it up, and log off for the night. The materials and upkeep are very easy to coordinate throughout the wipe. I do like that this base is cheap to build, and it should be as it is designed for the solo player.Overall, the roof makes you very vulnerable. You also don’t have auto turrets defending the roof, so a cheeky player can ladder up and steal the heli, which you also stole this is due to the lack of roof tiles. At most, you can place one windmill or four solar panels to power the base. While you have a mini helicopter landing pad and garage, you don’t have enough space at all. Secondly, the roof is the main weakness of this base. First of all, instead of using a double-stacked foundation, which in my opinion is pointless to build, you can go for something much simpler instead. This base does have significant drawbacks. You also have the starter base, which can be built upon until you finish the base. The base features a suicide bunker that protects the TC and some loot boxes outside the TCs and external spawning points, which is nice for a solo as you can more easily defend against an online raid or even door campers. Here are the 6 easiest ways to destroy a Wooden Door: 1.This simple base is recommended for solo players only because most of the base is quite compact with very little room for more players. Upgrading to Metal Doors will benefit you soo much and it is not that expensive. Once they get inside, they will destroy your beds and sleeping bags, and you won’t be able to respawn. If you are getting raided by someone and you have a Wooden Door, make sure you have some friends playing with you, or else it might be over for you and your base. You could waist a C4 on a wooden door, but the loot inside probably won’t compensate for the materials you used to get inside unless the person does a ton of material hunting and you want everything they have. There are a ton of ways to destroy Wooden Doors, but we are going to focus on the easiest ways for this article. You won’t have much to offer them so they most likely won’t raid you unless you make them mad. You are going to want to get Metal Doors as fast as possible so the only people that can get into your base are the ones with all the explosives saved up. Technically, Wooden Doors are not really the best defense, seeing that you can just burn through it with anything. Pretty much anyone can get through, even with enough rocks, so always be prepared for anything. It is extremely easy to get through, so you will probably want to make an airlock and barricade that section up as much as you can. We would say that it is a placeholder for better defenses later on. Wooden Doors are a good starting place for the defense of your base. If you want to know more about each of the ways, make sure to read the rest of the article. Some of them will take a while to do, but it can be done with enough patience. You can destroy them with pretty much anything, but the easiest stuff to use would be a Metal Hatchet, Incendiary Rounds, a Salvaged Sword, a Flame Thrower, Satchel Charges, or destroying the Foundation underneath it.Īnything can be used to destroy Wooden Doors, but these ways are by far the cheapest in the game. It is extremely easy to destroy Wooden Doors. You might be wondering, how hard is it to destroy a Wooden Door? You might join the server the next day, and your base was raided and everything you worked for was stolen from you. If you have ever played Rust, you will know how scary it is when there is a massive group near your base. There's no means of editing the HTML code of your entry, which reveals just how limited MacJournal is as a blog editing tool. MacJournal is promoted as software for blogging and journaling but it's really best suited for private diaries, note-keeping, or journals, rather than a full-fledged blogging tool. Here's where the problem with MacJournal reveals itself. I have plenty of storage space on my own server and this seems more in line with how I edit and post to the web site and online store. Using the image attachment feature of the blog itself just stashes the file away on Wordpress or Livejournal's servers, and isn't how I want to do it. This way, I always know where my images are, what they're named, and I can download them, mess with them in Photoshop, repurpose them or whatever. When I post images to my blogs - something I'm trying to do less frequently now, unless there's a good reason, because it makes composing the blog entry more difficult and time consuming and thus something I'm less likely to do often - I upload the images via FTP to my own server (), in a sub-folder, and then link within the post to the image URL. Though this is less than idea, the two blog folders are only separated by a tiny bit of screen space, so it's still more convenient than separately managing the two blogs. MarsEdit uses a different organizational structure in that every blog is kept in a separate folder within the window, and each blog entry must be composed in one blog or the other, then copied-and-pasted into the other blog. Initially I liked MacJournal better, because you can create a single "entry" and once it's composed, send it first to one blog and then to the other. Both MarsEdit and MacJournal appear to have strengths and weaknesses relative to what I'm trying to do, which is compose and edit blog entries in a single location, and post them to both Wordpress and Livejournal and thus keep two blogs synchronized while I figure out which to stick with.
